Facebook is now Top Social Networking site in India

Finally, Facebook superpassed Orkut in the traffic ranking and high percentage of unique visitors growth in India.
ComScore figure out that Facebook has now traffic advantage over Orkut in India.

India is the world’s second-largest market (after Brazil) where Google's social networking site, Orkut, ahead Facebook.

Orkut, founded in 2004 as a side project by a Google engineer, never made much of an impact globally but gained big followings in Brazil and India, where it remains so popular than Facebook.

According to ComScore Traffic firm report, published in July, Facebook attracted 20.9 million unique visitors in India as compared to 19.9 million Orkut's users. With this data, Facebook grew 179 percent last year as compared with only 16 percent of Orkut.

This data is only for Home and work location. ComScore doesn't include internet cafes (which is popular in India) mobile phones or PDAs access where Orkut may still popular and have more visitors than Facebook.
